@conservancy "best month ever" – for whom? I've stopped counting the failures we see here, on our builders: getting loads of 5xx from their API, having clones time out, having to repeat builds multiple times because of that (oh, clone succeeded? Your Dart compile as well? OK, then we fail when you start gradle, as their downloads are fetched from Github releases 🖕)
Yupp, time to give up GH. Will also free some resources there 😉
These might be worth a mention in the list of alternatives as well:
- GitLab FOSS https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-foss
- Radicle https://radicle.xyz
- GNU Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org
@conservancy
Also, you might want to consider mentioning mirroring as an option. One could see it as the equivalent of dual-booting: Less of a hard switch, that allows to instead first test the waters. Maybe the SFC could provide how-tos for mirroring each of the suggested alternatives.
